My dad's birthday was on Sept. 22! The day before his birthday, we went to dinner with some of his students. My mom let it slip that it was his birthday to a couple of his students so they, being Chinese, went and bought him two little cakes and we all sang him happy birthday in Chinese and English. He was very embarrassed! :) Sadly one of the cakes had coffee in it, so we didn't eat that one.

On his birthday, my dad wanted to go hiking. Yep, he still loves hiking! :) ( He wanted to go fishing, but...) We went to Baiyun Mountain, meaning " white cloud mountain." It is really a hill with pavement roads all the way up. It was also really crowded! Dad didn't consider it real hiking, but I think we all had fun. The view was beautiful! ( When we could see it. There were lots of trees all over.) We met some students from the university we are living in and they wanted pictures withe me and Tia. First we had to have group pictures with everyone and their phone. Then individual pics with everyone and their phone. Last, just random pics with everyone and their phone. We knew it would happen sooner or later! :)

| This big flat stone area had trees growing out of it. Like I said, lots of trees! |

After hiking, we ate at a Turkish restaurant Dad found. It was called The Sultan. It was really good! We all found something we liked ( even Tia! Turns out I'm not the picky eater any more!). It was really expensive though! However much we want to, we won't be going back soon! We were pretty tired after lunch, so we went home and took naps. We were planning to go get pie at a place someone told us about, but we were tired and Dad's back was hurting ( He pulled a muscle hiking.) so we decided to do that another day. It was a good day and we had fun! I love my dad so much! He does numerous things for me and for our family. (We are still alive here in China thanks to him! Course, we are here because of him.) Have a great year Dad! We love you! (Btw, he got lots of Swanmeis for his birthday! :) )
Sounds like a good birthday! I want to hear about your birthday, too!
